Task B3 - Location recce

Location Recce

I have chosen to use this room as Joshua's bedroom because it's a casual room compared to young youths of today. He doesn't have much, however just like every teenage boy he does own a Xbox one. This helps to represent how much Joshua is struggling, and how little he has. His room is very simple and represents his simplistic life, however his room is very messy which represents his chaotic life. This makes the audience understand his living conditions and feel sympathetic for him because he doesn't seem like he is living the best life.

I have also chosen to use Windsor Rd and Florence Rd in Chichester because it represents the peaceful life that Joshua and his family wants to live now, as living in Kennington was very stressful and a very hard life. It represents the change in life that he wants to go through because of the hectic life that he is living in right now and wants to get away. This makes the audience feel as if Joshua really wants to change because he is moving so far away from London showing him being dedicated to this huge life changing decision.

Chichester footbridge is another location that was chosen, because this shows the change in Joshua's life that he is going to go through. It represents the sudden change from a hectic lifestyle to a calm and relaxing lifestyle. This represents Joshua journey from selling drugs to leaving that lifestyle when he knew it was time, he valued his life and family over money which shows him to be loving. This makes the audience feel as if Joshua has grown as a person a lot and they have grown to like his decisions.  

I have chosen to record at Clapham Junction Station as it helps to show the transition and allow the short film to seem much more realistic and believable. Clapham Junction represents Joshua as being brave as he is actually going through with his decisions, this bravery makes the audience feel as if Joshua is a very intelligent person as he knows what is more important in life.

I have chosen to also film in Kennington - Lohmann House because it represents the C1 - E socio-economic class lifestyle. This represents the lifestyle that he is living and the conditions of his area, this makes the audience feel sympathetic for Joshua as he is not living in the best area. This area is known for gang affiliated boys and has a very bad reputation.
